D-SIMLAB Technologies Receives Grant from IDA/SPRING Singapore for the Productization of Distributed Simulation Technology

Technology will enable Multi-Million Dollar Savings for the Operation of Seaport Container Terminals or Multi-Waferfab Complexes

D-SIMLAB Technologies Receives Grant from IDA/SPRING Singapore for the Productization of Distributed Simulation Technology Technology will enable Multi-Million Dollar Savings for the Operation of Seaport Container Terminals or Multi-Waferfab Complexes D-SIMLAB Technologies (“D-SIMLAB”), a spin-off company incubated by Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd (“ETPL”), has received a grant from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and SPRING Singapore under the Infocomm@SME programme.

The grant will support a 15-month project to develop software infrastructure D-SIMFed for distributed simulation of complex manufacturing and logistics systems. Initially, the technology is to be applied for the enhancement of operations efficiencies for multi container-terminal seaport operations.

A pilot project with a Singapore port operator is already under development. The technology also has a lot of potential in domains such as semiconductor manufacturing where it will enable the “Borderless Fab” concept to enhance capacity and cycle time of a system of multiple wafer fabs on an aggregate level. Explained Gan Boon Ping, CTO of D-SIMLAB, “With the support from IDA and SPRING, we are able to bring this technology to the end users, shielding the users from the complex technical issues associated with the use of the technology.

This transparency enables companies to adopt the technology seamlessly, making it possible to quantify complex interactions of decision variables in a global level. There is no longer the need to compromise quality of decisions just because the lack of capability in quantifying them globally.”

Added Mr Boon Swan Foo, Executive Chairman of ETPL, “Exploit Technologies is happy that our efforts to help D-SIMLAB evolve its business model and raise funds have reaped fruits. The company has recently closed the first round of venture capital funding, and secured the first major client contract in the aerospace domain with OEMServices. Now with the award of this grant we are looking at a promising path ahead for D-SIMLAB to extend product and service offerings into other asset-intensive domains, successfully bringing A*STAR’s technologies into the market.”
