Airbus Material, Logistics and Suppliers selects D-SIMSPAIR to support Initial Provisioning and Spare Parts Inventory Network Optimisation

Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) model an important consideration in the decision

D-SIMLAB Technologies Pte Ltd (“D-SIMLAB”), the Singapore-headquartered leading provider of high-performance, simulation-based decision support solutions has been selected by Airbus to support initial provisioning and spare part inventory optimization. A multi-year engagement has been signed for D-SIMSPAIR, a high-end software tool specifically for design and optimisation of aerospace component support contracts. In February 2010, D-SIMLAB had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EADS Innovation Works Singapore, Airbus’ R&D arm, to undertake and promote joint collaboration activities and projects for the purpose of establishing and advancing new service models and logistics policies for spare parts.

An important argument in favour of D-SIMSPAIR was the ability to portray the dynamic attributes of the networks to be supported, which is very important when it comes to making quantitative commitments especially with regard to delivery time and schedule-dependent dispatch reliability in a network with multiple maintenance locations and inventory storage points. D-SIMSPAIR will be used by Airbus Material, Logistics and Suppliers for present and future campaigns on all Airbus aircraft platforms.

“D-SIMSPAIR has been gaining traction in the commercial aerospace market and has the potential to become the de-facto tool for managing Aerospace component support contracts. Working with Airbus is further proof of the unique capability of the software platform and the benefits it can bring to OEMs and MROs in pricing, developing, executing and managing such contracts.”, commented Dr. Peter Lendermann, CEO of D-SIMLAB.
